Pilates is a movement technique performed in a sequence on a floor mat which was invented by Joseph H. Pilates. It is a full-body conditioning program, injury preventative program, as well as rehabilitative therapy. Emphasis is placed on centering the body and developing strength of the abdominal and torso muscles.
